About

Kirsty is a 30 something Glasgow mum of two, who suffered with postnatal depression, who thinks writing in third person is really unnerving so lets just drop that.

This little slice of the internet was created in 2017 (according to my first ever post) after the birth of my daughter and the birth of a horrific mental illness I had knew nothing about, yet it would reside in my head for many years to come: Postnatal depression.

It turns out, that having a child is stressful enough to prompt one, not only into dire mental health conditions, but also into seeking a voice for said mental health in order to prevent internal combustion (I don’t remember reading any of that in the baby books. Mind you, I didn’t read any so…). Suffering from post natal depression I needed an outlet and a platform to shout that parenthood is tough (underfuckingstatment), but it need not be a lonely place.

I share daily on Instagram life with kids, my mental health or the many injustices in the world. You could read that as I moan a lot, but please, if the world didn’t provide the fuel, I wouldn’t provide the fire.

I am passionate about raising awareness of postnatal depression, and all aspects of parenthood; life didn’t magically get better once I beat the demon of PND. I love to share those difficult to say parts of parenthood that make us wonder if its ‘only me’ that feels that way. From rage screaming at my toddler to emotional breakdowns, overwhelmed with life, I share it all to help myself understand it all. But to also help others know they aren’t alone.

Get in touch if you fancy a chat or if you have any ideas how I can use this penchant for oversharing to better help the parents of the world.
